May 31, 2010 at 2:32 AM

Hi,

I had download the new version of ProjectLinker (ProjectLinker Source for VS2010 - May 2010), I cannot open it in VS2010 righly.  it report that:

The project file 'xxx\ProjectLinker\ProjectLinker.csproj' cannot be opened.
The project type is not supported by this installation.

Do I need to install other tools?

Hi,

Based on the error you are experiencing, the most likely cause for you not being able to open it is that you don’t have the Visual Studio 2010 SDK installed.

I hope you find this helpful.

Thanks for your help. It is clear now.

Do you have a plan to release this tool in binery format install? We had use this tool in our projects, I want use it in VS2010, and install VS2010 SDK to my working machine and make a Wix setup project is complex. :-)

Thank you again.

Hi,

As mentioned in this blog post by Damian Schenkelman, the Project Linker will soon be released to the Visual Studio Gallery in VSIX format, which is the platform for extending Visual Studio 2010 (with tools, controls, and templates).

I hope you find this helpful.
