Microsoft.Practices.Prism.Interactivity creates many localized resources

If you add Microsoft.Practices.Prism.Interactivity to your Project and Build it, you discover localized resources for many different languages.

What are they needed for, if they are needed at all?

Hi,

Those localized resources are the cultures for the System.Windows.Controls assembly, which are probably needed in the Prism.Interactivity project because it uses ChildWindows.

You should note, however, that those resources are not added to your xap nor compiled dll. You might find the following resources useful (As we were able to reproduce the behavior you're mentioning in Silverlight but not in WPF, I'm adding resources for both WPF and Silverlight):
