SelectorRegionAdapter - How is the child item type determined?

How does the SelectorRegionAdapter determine the type of item it contains?

And can the mapping be modifed?

I'm looking to have a TabRegion be populated with a collection of CloseableTabItems rathter than the standard TabItem.

Hi cjarman,
The SelectorRegionAdapter does not decide which items will be created to wrap the views. This is done by the TabControl instead.
You can create a derived version of TabControl in order to do this, as explained in this thread: http://www.codeplex.com/CompositeWPF/Thread/View.aspx?ThreadId=32259
