We are developing commercial application with closed source code.

I have read Microsoft patterns & practices License, and it is not clear whether it can be used and under what conditions.

Question: Is it allowed to use Prism (or some parts) in commercial applications with closed source? Are there any additional rules for distributing such applications?

As far as I know, Prism is being used to develop both commercial and non-commercial applications (open or close source.) Based on my understanding of Prism’s License, you are free to use Prism in any application as long as you don’t remove the copyright notices included with Prism (for example, the comments in the Prism’s source code,) you don’t use any contributor’s name, logo or trademark without prior authorization and your application is designed to run directly on a Microsoft Windows operative system.

You can find a detailed list of grants and limitations described in Prism’s License.

I hope this helps,
